Drug and alcohol advisory group participants needed
We are looking for LGBTI people who have sought support for their drug and alcohol use to participate in 3-4 advisory group meetings held at ACON. The advisory group will support a research project that is being conducted by ACON and researchers from the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre and the University of Sydney.
The research will explore the experience of LGBTI Australians who have accessed support for co-occurring substance use. It will also explore the experience of clinical staff working with LGBTI people in this field.
All participants will be reimbursed for their time.
Who can participate?
We are looking for people who:
- Identify as part of the LGBTI community
- Have had experience of accessing substance support services
If you have relevant lived experience we would love to hear from you!
You do not need to have any qualifications or professional experience to be a part of this group!

We ask that you commit to attend approximately 3-4 meetings over the next 12 months. Meetings will last up to 2 hours and they will take place at ACON, near Central station in Surry hills. If you are not in Sydney, don’t worry you can dial in and participate remotely!
